RALLY: Mathieu Andrianjafy ends his career

Mathieu Andrianjafy, the six-time Madagascar rally champion, has put his Subaru Impreza N11 up for sale and announced his permanent retirement from the sport.

The news sent shockwaves through the Malagasy rally community. In a Facebook post, the country’s most decorated driver stated: “After many wonderful years of competition, a chapter is closing. I am selling my Subaru Impreza N11, a car that represents years of passion, hard work, and memories on the special stages.”

The driver, who secured national titles in 2007, 2013, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025, expressed deep disappointment regarding the current state of the discipline, citing a lack of rigor, transparency, and fairness in the championship management. Known by his nickname “Zaza Maditra” (the terrible child), Andrianjafy leaves the sport while currently holding third place in the 2026 provisional standings.

Throughout his illustrious career, he drove various iconic vehicles, including the Subaru GC8 and the Mitsubishi Evo IX. In 2025, he also founded the ZZM Racing team to support drivers across different age groups and clubs.
