The Integrated Sanitation Project of Antananarivo (PIAA2) is currently underway, with the second phase focusing on a 271.76-meter stretch of the drainage system. This project aims to significantly improve water drainage in this part of the capital.
The start of construction has led to local adjustments. Infrastructure interventions are being carried out, and traffic management measures have been implemented. Affected merchants have been temporarily relocated to a designated site at the Anosy Garden to continue their business operations during the construction period.
This intervention is part of a broader operation covering 1,774 meters of work, divided into eight phases. The first phase has reached a completion rate of 78.65%, while the overall progress of Operation 2 stands at 25.87%.
Preparations for future interventions are also underway in other sectors. In the Eastern Valley, technical and impact studies have been launched for areas including Besarety, Mahavoky, Andranobahiny, Avaradoha, and Anjanahary, serving as a prerequisite for future sanitation works.
