Jirama is strengthening its measures to combat fraud and corruption. The national water and electricity company has entered into a partnership with the Independent Anti-Corruption Bureau (Bianco) and the National Anti-Fraud Agency (Anaf) to track down fraudulent activities and corruption within the company. This initiative targets both Jirama agents and users through prevention and detection actions.
The partnership agreement was signed on Thursday at the Iavoloha State Palace by Jirama’s Director General, General Hajatiana Rasolomanana, Bianco’s Director General, Gaby Nestor Razakamanantsoa, and Anaf’s Director General, General Charles Andrianasoavina. The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jirama, General Itibar Ottman, attended the ceremony.
According to Jirama, the objective of this cooperation is to identify risks of fraud and corruption within the company in order to implement measures to prevent, reduce, and eliminate them. The partnership includes awareness and training initiatives, capacity building for relevant stakeholders, as well as risk control and assessment missions. It also includes mechanisms for detecting offenses related to fraud and corruption.
According to the national company, the initiative does not only target Jirama employees. Users are also involved in awareness and prevention actions, while any proven offenses may lead to the application of legal provisions.
