Consultations regarding electoral preparations are in full swing at the Iavoloha State Palace. Led by Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, the discussions bring together various political factions, as well as civil society organizations and law enforcement agencies.
The goal of these consultations is to reach a consensus to create a political climate conducive to peaceful, credible, and universally accepted elections. Representatives of the international community have been invited to these meetings as observers, emphasizing the need for an inclusive political dialogue to establish a framework for transparent and credible elections.
Since Tuesday, Colonel Randrianirina, accompanied by high-level advisors and the president of the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), has held a series of meetings. Participants have included the former Firaisankina platform, the new KFIM political formation, the Irmar opposition platform, the Green Party, the Mouvement Gasikara, and the Kolektifan’ny Malagasy, among others. High-ranking officials from the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) were also consulted, as they are considered citizens with responsibilities in national affairs.
The Arche de la Nation (ADN) party also participated, presenting a seven-point proposal based on its “Refondation à la base” (Grassroots Refoundation) doctrine. The ADN argues that elections should not be an end in themselves but must be accompanied by a broader reform of the governance system, advocating for a “Federalisma Sahaza” (Appropriate Federalism) model that transfers more authority to local territories.
The party insists that electoral rules must remain stable, independent of the candidates or leaders in power, and that the body responsible for organizing elections must remain strictly independent.
