Seventy songs spanning several decades of music: Rebika is preparing a grand journey through its own repertoire. With ‘Tamberina 2026’, the group invites the public this Sunday, August 30, starting at 2 p.m., at the Esca Antanimena basketball court. This open-air show, organized exclusively in Antananarivo this year, will also mark the conclusion of their national tour.
The repertoire will be the heart of this gathering. About seventy tracks will be performed, ranging from songs that defined Rebika’s history to more recent pieces, including tracks less frequently highlighted. ‘We are going to recall the songs that represent Rebika and its history. We will try to present songs that are heard less often as well as new ones and those the public already knows,’ explains Noely.
The show promises to be particularly long, starting at 2 p.m. and continuing until the end of the repertoire. Ballads, popular songs, and upbeat tracks will allow for a revisit of different periods of the group’s journey. Older fans will be able to rediscover titles that accompanied their own history, while younger ones will discover a part of Rebika’s musical heritage.
To host this large-scale show, the Esca Antanimena basketball court will be set up to welcome the public in the best conditions. Technically, the organization relies on an established collaboration with Lax Pro. The sound system has been upgraded with more powerful equipment, and the stage decoration has also been reinforced.
Two days before the event, preparations are progressing at a good pace. The group is working on both the visible elements of the show and those happening behind the scenes. ‘We are now a bit ahead in our preparations to ensure there is enough time for everyone to be satisfied. I think everything is moving well, both for the visible preparation and the group’s work behind the scenes. We already have our hearts, minds, and souls ready,’ emphasizes Noely.
With ‘Tamberina 2026’, Rebika is banking on the strength of its repertoire to bring several generations together around its songs. An afternoon dedicated to the group’s musical memory, featuring known hits, discoveries, and memories.
