HEALTH – Free medical care targets vulnerable individuals

Receiving medical care without upfront costs. The Health Fair will be held on October 3rd and 4th at the Parvis of the City Hall in Analakely. For this inaugural edition, around fifty stands will be set up to offer various services to the public. Several types of free screenings will be available, including eye health, vaccinations, and various medical examinations. When a health issue is identified, the individuals concerned will be directed toward appropriate care.

The issue of access to medication will also be among the topics addressed during the event. Pharmaceutical products may be offered, but they will not be systematically free. However, direct sales of medication will not be permitted at the stands. Depending on the needs, a recommendation may be issued to guide patients to a pharmacy.

Special attention will be given to eye health as part of the screenings. Individuals with suspected cataracts may be referred for potential surgery. According to the information gathered, certain costs related to the treatment could be significantly reduced. In total, several services will be accessible for free during these two days. For this first edition, the initiative could subsequently be expanded nationwide.
