Mahajanga is preparing for three days of festivities. From August 15 to 17, the Star Tour will set up camp at the Mahajanga waterfront, featuring a completely free program that combines concerts, entertainment, games, dining, and relaxation areas. Through this event, Star aims to highlight Malagasy culture, promote national talent, and offer a convivial moment accessible to everyone.
Concerts will be the highlights of this edition. Several artists, including Arnaah, Ljo, Ckycky, and Ambondrona, will take the stage. The selection of artists is the result of an internal survey conducted by Star and among the public, while also taking into account their availability.
Throughout the event, visitors will enjoy podium entertainment, carnival games, comedy shows with Teg Barhone, as well as performances by DJ Three T, DJ Looping, DJ Natoo, and DJ Jim. Raffles will also offer opportunities to win gifts and goodies.
The site will host several areas designed for the whole family, including tents offering snacks, a draft beer area, inflatable structures, and games for children. Security is among the organization’s priorities. Several partners will be mobilized to ensure the smooth running of the event, including the presence of the Red Cross and compliance with infrastructure standards.
Concerned about preserving the site, Star plans daily cleaning throughout the event. On Monday, a major cleanup operation will be organized on the beach with Kopakelatra and local residents to restore the site. Kopakelatra bins will be installed to encourage festival-goers to adopt responsible habits and contribute to the cleanliness of this family destination.
