The three-day battle between the masters of the steering wheel has begun. The 23rd edition of the Rallye Tour de Tana, which counts as the fourth round of the Madagascar Rally Championship, kicks off at noon. Two special stages are on the program for the first leg, with the same stage being used twice in both directions. The first car will start at noon from the Ambohimahatsinjo junction towards Anjeva, covering a distance of 10.40 km. Competitors will run the route in reverse for the second and final special stage of the day.
Thirty-seven crews will compete in this penultimate national round, which promises to be electric. The battle will be fierce between the leaders and title contenders. The crew of Mathieu Andrianjafy and Nathanael Young, driving a Subaru, achieved an early double by winning the first two rounds in the capital. Meanwhile, the duo of Frédéric Rabekoto and Andry Tahina Rakotomalala Andrianjafy, driving a Mitsubishi Yas, shone at the 19th Rallye du Boeny in August.
Podium regular Olivier Ramiandrisoa, driving a Mitsubishi Evo X, dominated the first two days of the previous two rallies in the capital. A total of ten special stages covering 126 km are scheduled over the three days of this coefficient 1 rally.
