Twelve young Malagasy people will benefit from training in the tourism sector in Mauritius. This initiative follows the signing of a cooperation agreement between Madagascar and Mauritian partners on July 6.
The presentation of the scholarship certificates was carried out on Tuesday by Lucie Rafaralahy Vololoniaina, known as Lily Rafaralahy, Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, at her department’s headquarters in Tsimbazaza. The event was also attended by Daniel Saramandif, an international business and tourism consultant, and Sita Saminaden, Director General of the Stephen Business School (SBS) in Mauritius.
The training takes place at SBS Mauritius. It aims to strengthen the skills of these young people and allow them to gain professional experience from Mauritian professionals, who possess recognized expertise in the tourism field. Madagascar was selected as one of the beneficiary countries for this program due to the development potential of its tourism sector, as well as the importance of its youth who can be supported and trained, the Ministry of Tourism explained.
The Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts is responsible for identifying the beneficiaries and facilitating their access to the program. For Minister Lily Rafaralahy, this cooperation could also extend to other areas. She believes that this agreement constitutes an opening towards new training and partnership initiatives.
