The Rova of Manjakamiadana can now be seen under new permanent exterior lighting powered by solar energy. Inaugurated on Friday, this system brings a new dimension to the historic site. Resulting from a partnership between the Filatex Group, the Ministry of Communication and Culture (MCC), and Ormada, the project relies on sixty solar studs covering nearly 8,000 m², with an autonomy of up to twelve hours.
The primary objective remains security. The lighting is intended to facilitate the surveillance of the Rova, deter intrusions, and improve working conditions for guards, while ensuring the preservation of the site’s landscape authenticity.
This installation also opens up new possibilities for tourism. Night visits could be considered, provided that an adapted system is in place: secure and marked paths, visitor supervision, and defined schedules. Access management and heritage protection must also be ensured to allow the public to discover the Rova at night without compromising its integrity.
