Two years after his last Tapôlaka Glady event, Rossy returns to the stage with “Timeless,” a show designed to meet the expectations of an audience seeking both nostalgia and new emotions.
On August 22, at the Palais des Sports in Mahamasina, the artist will present “Tapôlaka Glady Timeless.” The goal is to reconnect with the original spirit of the concept while utilizing modern technical resources. For Rossy, the stakes are high: after a long hiatus, he must satisfy a public demanding his classic songs and revive a musical universe that has defined several generations.
“People were really asking for Rossy, for the entirety of Rossy’s songs,” the artist explains. The repertoire will be 100% Rossy, featuring a progressive show structure that transitions from softer melodies to traditional rhythms like sôva, kabôsy, bapampa, and angorodao, culminating in a high-energy dance party. Representatives of the new generation will also participate to encourage audience engagement.
While the original Tapôlaka Glady relied on limited technical means and raw energy, this edition will leverage modern sound, lighting, and screen technologies to elevate the experience without losing its identity. Supported by Somaprod and Cool Concept Events, the project may eventually tour across Madagascar, with a potential live broadcast on Sehatra.com for the diaspora.
Paul Bert Rahasimanana, known as Rossy, is a legendary figure in Malagasy music, known for blending traditional sounds with rock, funk, and folk. With “Tapôlaka Glady Timeless,” he aims not only to revisit the past but to pass his repertoire on to the next generation.
