The dream continues to be written in capital letters for Océane Rasata-Andriamasy. After Kigali, the young Malagasy basketball player is now heading to Chicago, USA. She is among the 40 young players selected by the NBA, WNBA, and FIBA to participate in the Women’s Basketball Without Borders (BWB) All-Star Camp 2026, organized from July 24 to 26 as part of the WNBA All-Star 2026. This marks a prestigious new milestone for the athlete who currently represents one of the greatest hopes for Malagasy women’s basketball.
This selection rewards her consistent progress. In 2022, Océane distinguished herself by winning the Madagascar U14 championship with MB2ALL. She was also named the tournament’s MVP and top scorer, with a total of 120 points. A few years later, her talent propelled her onto the continental stage. In August 2025, she was the sole Malagasy representative at the Basketball Without Borders Africa Camp in Kigali, Rwanda, which brought together the best young African talents under 18.
The Kigali experience clearly served as a springboard. Océane had the opportunity to work with coaches and figures from the NBA, WNBA, and FIBA in an environment designed to refine the technical, physical, and mental qualities of young players. Her stated goal was to continue her development, represent Madagascar at the highest level, and eventually join an academy or professional club abroad.
In Chicago, the challenge takes on an even more international dimension. For three days, the Malagasy player will train alongside young talents from around the world. The program includes high-level training, 3×3 and 5×5 competitions, skills contests, and leadership activities. It is also a unique opportunity to immerse herself in the world of the WNBA All-Star 2026.
“The three-day camp taught me a lot. You have to know how to do everything on the court. You cannot afford to neglect anything, because the slightest negligence is very costly when facing the best players on the court,” Océane shared.
