BEVALALA – Gendarmes rescue a distressed young girl

A 10-year-old schoolgirl was found wandering near the Bevalala football field, in the Malaho fokontany, Ampanefy rural commune, on Friday, July 24, around 7:10 PM.

Alerted by a citizen, gendarmes from the Ankadivoribe outpost immediately arrived at the scene, where they discovered the girl. She identified herself as Nomena, a second-grade student at the Ampefiloha Public Primary School, and stated that she had been brought to the area by a classmate named Lovasoa. She explained that she had been working as a domestic helper alongside the latter, though she could not recall the location or the name of their employer, whom they had reportedly left some time ago.

The girl, who is approximately 1.20 meters tall, has mixed-race skin and braided hair. She was wearing a gray hoodie, a red t-shirt, navy blue shorts, and purple sandals. She was taken to the outpost office for her safety while awaiting the arrival of her relatives. Local authorities have been informed, and an investigation has been opened to determine the circumstances of her wandering, according to the gendarmerie.
