MOTOCROSS – GP AUTO IMPORT – Claudio Tida unbeatable at home

The sixth round of the Madagascar Motocross Championship took place on Sunday at the Auto Import circuit in Toamasina. Claudio Tida remains untouchable on his home turf.

This marks his second consecutive victory. Following his success at the Grand Prix de l’Est in mid-July, Claudio Tida triumphed on Sunday in the Elite 1 category at the Grand Prix Auto Import in Toamasina, which served as the sixth round of the national championship.

Riding a 2026 version of the Stark Varg electric motorcycle, Claudio dominated both ten-lap races. Mathias Plantive and Lucas Robert completed the podium. Mathias finished second in the first race and third in the second. Defending champion Lucas Robert, competing in his first national event of the season, secured a third and then a second-place finish. Andy Andrianirina Ratsimba finished just off the podium.

In the provisional standings after six rounds, Mathias Plantive leads with 263 points and four victories. Claudio Tida, with two wins and three second-place finishes, holds second place with 221 points.

In the Elite 2 category, provisional leader Jérémy Rakotoarimanana could only manage third place overall. Despite winning the second race, he had finished third in the first. The MX2 victory went to Darwin Ranja Nomenjanahary, who won the first race, while Rouan Croft took the second step on the podium.

In the junior category, Thomas Ramanantsoa claimed victory by winning both Sunday races, ahead of Lo Tsy Heng Daniel.

In the Veterans 1 category, Patrick NoLimit, winner of four of the first five rounds, had to settle for second place this time, behind Danny Hervol, who won both races. In Veterans 2, Titi Karon took the win ahead of Niry Ravelonirina and Rolland Ratsiraka.

In the women’s category, Louna Ramanantsoa and Harena Szmurlo engaged in a tight duel. Championship leader Harena won the first race, before Louna took her revenge in the second.

Three rounds remain in this season’s championship calendar. The next two will take place outside the capital, in Manakara and then Antsirabe. The ninth and final round will be held in Ambohidava in mid-December.
