The bet paid off. After filling the CCESCA Antanimena on September 7 for his return to the stage after nearly ten years of absence, Nono repeated the experience on Friday at Havoria Anosy, where the venue was once again sold out. Many fans gathered to rediscover the artist’s musical world and the tracks that have left their mark on several generations.
Nono’s voice has clearly lost none of its power. Between nostalgia, poetry, and closeness to the audience, the singer delivered a rich repertoire, driven by a genuine complicity with the spectators. Josephine, a fan in the audience, testified to this loyalty: “I have been a fan of Nono since my adolescence. I couldn’t come to his first concert at CCESCA, so this is a great opportunity for this second concert. I am rediscovering his flagship tracks that marked my youth.”
The evening revisited several iconic pieces, including “Ilay Masoandro,” “Mandodona,” “Miakamidina,” “Ankizy Milalao,” “Hendre tsara,” and “Foana,” among others. On the final track, the artist remarked: “It has been many years that I have waited for this moment with you.”
To accompany this reunion, Nono was surrounded by talented musicians, including Josia on bass, Matthieu on guitar, Baliaka on drums, and Rado and Clark on keyboards, along with backing vocalists Elvina and Tiana. Their presence helped bring this reunion concert to life.
Following these two sold-out shows, Nono is already considering a new meeting with his audience at the Palais des Sports next year. When asked about this prospect, the artist remains cautious: “We will see what the future holds for us.”
