VAK’RANTY – Vakinankaratra highlights its local production

The “Vak’Ranty 2026” fair was officially launched on August 13, 2026, in Antsirabe. This first edition brings together more than three hundred participants from the seven districts of Vakinankaratra. It highlights local production and aims to offer more prospects to producers and businesses in the region.

Held under the theme “Ainga vao ho fampandrosoana maharitra,” which means “A new impetus for sustainable development,” the event is dedicated to promoting Malagasy products. It also serves as a space for promoting local production and the economic development of Madagascar.

During the official launch, the High Councilor for Refoundation, Colonel Thierry Rampanarivo, emphasized the importance of valuing and consuming Malagasy products. For him, local consumption is a way to support producers and strengthen the country’s businesses.

This orientation also aims to foster job creation. By developing production and encouraging consumers to prioritize Malagasy products, local businesses can benefit from a larger market and have better development prospects.

The Vak’Ranty 2026 fair is part of this desire to bring local production closer to consumers. The presence of participants from the seven districts of Vakinankaratra makes it possible to highlight the diversity of the region’s production and give more visibility to local actors.

Colonel Thierry Rampanarivo also encouraged the region to develop quality and competitive products. This improvement is presented as an important condition for allowing local productions to establish themselves beyond the regional market.

The objective is therefore not limited to consumption in Vakinankaratra. Products must first be able to conquer the national market before seeking new outlets on an African and international scale.

This ambition relies in particular on the ability of producers and businesses to offer products that meet consumer expectations. Quality and competitiveness must therefore accompany the promotion of Malagasy products to allow them to access new markets.

With more than three hundred participants, Vak’Ranty 2026 gives visibility to actors from the seven districts of Vakinankaratra and highlights local production.

Vak’Ranty 2026 thus carries an ambition that goes beyond the simple exhibition of products. Through the theme “Ainga vao ho fampandrosoana maharitra,” the event intends to place local production at the service of Madagascar’s economic development, while encouraging producers to improve their competitiveness and gradually target national, African, and international markets.
