It is almost official. Romuald “Rôrô” Rakotondrabe announced this Friday that he has reached an agreement with the Sudanese club Al-Merrikh SC. The former Barea coach will lead the reserve team of this club under a one-year renewable contract.
“Things are becoming clearer now. I am still here for the moment,” the Malagasy coach stated during an exchange with the press at the Barea stadium in Mahamasina. According to him, there are still a few administrative details to settle before his departure. “Once everything that needs to be done is completed, it will be time to leave,” he added.
The former coach of AS Adema, Jet Kintana, and Dato FC indicated that he had obtained satisfaction on the majority of his requirements before giving his green light. “As for the agreement, it suits me perfectly. They accepted what was requested and what was discussed,” he emphasized.
Rôrô will therefore be in charge of the reserve team of this Sudanese club, which competed in the Rwandan league last season. His mission will be to prepare young players so they are ready whenever the first team, which competes in the African Champions League, calls upon them. “It is only after meeting with the management that we will know what their objectives are,” he concluded.
