According to her statements, he had left the house the day before to handle administrative matters and never returned. Suspicious calls then led investigators to his ex-wife, R. L., who had claimed he was being held at the Andoharanofotsy gendarmerie, a claim denied by the authorities. R. L. was taken into police custody as part of the investigation.
The following day, July 29, the man returned. He explained that he had spent two days at his ex-wife’s home to visit their children and had voluntarily hidden his presence from his current wife, fearing the search efforts. He clarified that he was neither a victim of assault nor kidnapping.
His ex-partner admitted to lying during her initial interrogation. The man was interviewed by investigators to clarify the circumstances of this voluntary disappearance.
