Opportunities for screening for diabetes and high blood pressure are increasing for the population as awareness campaigns intensify. In this context, a free screening operation was organized yesterday at the Inter-company Health Space of Antananarivo (Esia), located in Andranomena. Esia welcomed not only its members but also non-members.
“Diabetes and hypertension are chronic diseases that are not noticeable at the beginning. However, they can become serious if not treated in time,” stated Esia.
High blood pressure and diabetes are two frequently associated pathologies. In addition to damaging artery walls, they can increase the risk of developing other diseases, such as kidney failure, heart failure, or stroke.
This is the second screening for diabetes and high blood pressure organized by Esia as part of the celebration of its 20th anniversary this year. With this free screening, this medical and occupational health center aimed to help everyone know their health status, receive professional advice, and be directed to the right treatment if necessary.
