Examination boards for the 2026 Baccalaureate session have noted a decrease in irregularities during the tests. “Although acts of fraud persist, their frequency has significantly regressed compared to previous sessions. The decline in copies containing identical errors, a phenomenon that was common in the past, provides direct proof of this,” examiners stated yesterday. The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has been uncompromising this year, specifically targeting the ban on mobile phones in examination centers to prevent the dissemination of subjects. There have been no reports of subject leaks this year.
In Toliara, the decline in the success rate—which shows a gap of more than 20 points compared to 2023 (66%) and 2024 (63%)—is seen as evidence of the strengthened rigor during this exam session.
“The years 2023 and 2024 coincided with a period marked by serious cases of subject leaks and exam fraud nationwide. The report on the evolution of results in Toliara calls for caution when interpreting those exceptionally high performances and establishes a link between the break observed since 2025 and the strengthening of security policies,” according to the University of Toliara.
The implementation of the “Bac Malio” and subsequently “Bacc Malio 2.0” systems has placed fraud prevention at the heart of exam organization in Toliara. In 2026, this policy was accompanied by enhanced cooperation with the Independent Anti-Corruption Bureau (BIANCO) and the mobilization of all officials involved. The university aims to further secure the exam, with the future “Bacc Malio 3.0” expected to address remaining loopholes and make any attempt to discredit the process increasingly difficult.
