The road in Ambohimiandra may remain closed today. Although Jirama announced the completion of water pipe replacement work yesterday, the restoration of the road section affected by the excavation has not yet been finished. “The project proved more extensive than anticipated. Instead of restricting work to the pipe zone, we had to open up the entire roadway,” stated a source from the Ministry of Public Works yesterday. Technicians have been working on-site to repair the affected road section. The official from the Ministry of Public Works assures that every effort is being made to complete the work as quickly as possible and reopen traffic before the festivities.
Two major water pipes were replaced in Ambohimiandra, including the DN 500 main lines and another DN 250 pipe, which had been leaking near the new installation. These works have now been finalized. Jirama has announced the gradual restoration of water supply in areas affected by disruptions or cuts related to these two interventions.
