More than fifty African participants have completed ten days of training and discovery in Moscow dedicated to new media languages.
The closing ceremony of the “New Generation 2026” program, themed “Russia–Africa: New Media Languages,” was held on August 3, 2026, in Moscow. Certificates were presented by Artem Kureev, Editor-in-Chief of African Initiative, and Ekaterina Torubarova, Head of the Public Diplomacy Department at Rossotrudnichestvo, the program’s main organizers.
Over ten days, participants were trained in modern journalism, storytelling, fact-checking, digital content creation, and international communication. The program also included professional visits to Russia Today, African Initiative, and the Ostankino TV center, as well as cultural tours of the Victory Museum and Patriot Park.
Among the Malagasy participants were journalist Nirina Suzetta Randriamiarisoa, content creator Mamy Haja Stéphane, and culinary content creator Njac Razakaharisoa. The latter highlighted the Russians’ respect for their own culture and history, which he found inspiring.
In his speech, Artem Kureev praised the participants’ commitment and reiterated that the program aims to strengthen the skills of media professionals and develop exchanges between Russia and Africa. This edition brought together representatives from twelve African countries, reaching a cumulative audience of approximately 30 million views on social media. The organizers announced that the program will continue in future editions.
