Health centers are operating at full capacity during this winter season as patients suffering from respiratory problems continue to flock in. “With the onset of cold weather, the number of patients is rising due to a widespread surge in colds,” notes Dr. Eddy Rabetsoa, a physician at the Espace Sanitaire Interentreprises d’Antananarivo (ESIA) in Andranomena, which was inaugurated on June 19th as part of its 20th anniversary celebrations.
According to observations by doctors at this occupational health organization, the illness affects both children and adults. “Seasonal changes are conducive to the flu. While children are particularly susceptible to pulmonary infections, professional fatigue remains the primary trigger for adults,” another doctor explains. Health professionals emphasize that these respiratory diseases should not be taken lightly and require medical consultation.
ESIA has relocated one of its centers to Andranomena to be closer to its members. According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Hervé Randriamananandro, the move ensures that employees of member companies no longer face difficulties traveling to a care center when they fall ill.
ESIA currently brings together four hundred member companies. Its three centers provide care for general pathologies and occupational health through specific health check-ups, complemented by dental services. They also utilize partner laboratories.
