TAEKWONDO – Nicolas Ragonz promoted to 7th Dan

One of the highest-ranking Malagasy practitioners in the discipline. After more than thirty years of practice, passion, hard work, and dedication, Nicolas de Gonzague Randriamiandrisoa, known by the pseudonym Nicolas Ragonz, has earned his 7th Dan black belt in WT Taekwondo. A life dedicated to Taekwondo, the Nantes-based expatriate began practicing this Korean martial art in 1992 and spent 23 years with the national team.

Throughout his elite athletic career, Ragonz has participated in five World Championships. Among the major successes in his track record are the African Poomsae Champion title in 2002, runner-up in 2012, French Champion in 2013, and bronze medalist at the French Veteran Kyorugi Championships (2003, 2004, 2006). Versatile by nature, Ragonz transitioned into technical roles while still competing. He is an international judge and referee in Kyorugi. He has officiated at two World Championships—in Korea in 2022 and Hong Kong in 2024—as well as the 2019 European Championship in Turkey, the 2023 African Games, and several international Opens in countries including the United States and Canada.

Nicolas Randriamiandrisoa has served as the technical manager for Poomsae in the Pays de la Loire region since 2016 and as the manager for Poomsae judges since 2020.
