The Auto and Cross Car de Tana (ACCT) club will organize the 23rd edition of the “XXL Last Race by Carrefour” slalom on November 7 and 8 at the Ampilanonana circuit in Ambodifasina, on the highway towards Ambohimanga Rova. This race serves as the fifth and final round of the Madagascar Slalom and Dirt Track Hill Climb Championship.
In an unusual move, a shakedown day for reconnaissance is scheduled for Saturday, October 31, at the competition site. All registered competitors will be able to perform trials and tests one week before the event, said Michael Nambinintsoa, Secretary General of the organizing club. He described the circuit as a 1.5 km loop that is both technical and includes a straight line, featuring a pursuit-style race format with two starting points, A and B.
ACCT President Miangaly Rabarijoely noted that various activities will accompany the two-day race, including a giant screen for results, DJ entertainment, radio-controlled vehicle demonstrations, food stalls, and a family-friendly area. The club also plans to award trophies to senior drivers, known as “Bandy Rangahy,” to encourage veteran participants.
Jeannot Rabekoto, President of the Madagascar Automobile Sports Federation, confirmed that new timing cells have arrived and will be used for these championship rounds.
Over forty drivers are expected for this final national round. FMMSAM club driver Juan Rakotojohary, known as “Tovonen Jr,” has already secured his 5th Madagascar Slalom Champion title after a flawless season, winning all four previous rounds. The battle for the remaining podium spots remains tight between Tovohery Rakotojohary (46 points), Eric Begue (43 points), and Mickaël Rabesaotra (42 points).
