Emerging priorities. Herinjatovo Ramiarison, Minister of Economy and Finance, has outlined the priorities for the Analamanga region that should be included in the 2027 State budget. During the budget conference held at the National School of Administration of Madagascar (ENAM) in Androhibe on Monday, the finance minister highlighted the rehabilitation of economic infrastructure, the development of the agribusiness sector, and tourism as key economic drivers for the region.
According to the minister, “the overall priority observed throughout Madagascar concerns economic infrastructure, which is entirely degraded.” He emphasized that “the majority of it is damaged, leading to enormous losses for the economy and the Malagasy nation.” This is why their rehabilitation “constitutes a priority” for Analamanga.
The Analamanga region is also full of potential that should be supported, Herinjatovo Ramiarison continued. He spoke of the agricultural sector, particularly agribusiness, as well as tourism. “These are economic sectors that stimulate production, increase national wealth, and create a significant number of jobs,” the minister specified. He believes that “it is faster and easier to create jobs through agribusiness and tourism.”
For the minister, the budget conference is important as it allows for debate on the strategies to be implemented to boost the priority sectors of a region.
