Pétanque – National de Valréas – Lahatra’s team falls in the final

So close to the title. The triplet of expatriate Lahatra Randriamanantany, alongside Theo Vaurs and Frédéric Bauer, lost 6-13 on Sunday in the final of the National de Valréas to the team of Laur Patrick, Jimmy Capeleaud, and Sébastien Rousseau. On a roll, Lahatra’s squad had defeated Patchouly Sorrel, Jacques Lombard, and Laurent Beaudier 13-5 in the semi-finals, after eliminating the team of Adrien Delahaye, Stéphane Robine, and Mathieu Dhainaut (13-9) in the quarter-finals. This was the fifth summer National tournament of the season out of the seventeen counting towards the Passion Pétanque Française Tours.

After negotiations and regularization of their files with the French Federation and the organizers, the Union des Boulistes Manjaka Tokana (UBMT) team was finally able to compete in this weekend’s tournament. The trio of Faratiana Rakotoniaina, known as “Tiana Kely,” Donald Andrianantenaina, and Onja Randrianarimanana were knocked out in the quarter-finals, defeated by Patchouly Sorrel, Jacques Lombard, and Laurent Beaudier (12-13). This triplet had been eliminated in the round of 32 at the National La Marseillaise two weeks ago. Yves Sédrick Rakotoarisoa, alongside Enryck Serge Begnis and Richard Feltin, also failed in the quarter-finals, losing to the eventual winners (5-13). Global elites Dylan Rocher, Diego Rizzi, and Herbert Choppick also fell in the quarter-finals.
