A vendor operating in front of the Malagasy Post Office (Poste Malagasy) in Analakely has been sanctioned with a 15-day sales ban and a fine of 50,000 Ariary. This measure follows the enforcement of the Municipal Hygiene Code (CMH) in the area.
Prior to this, the Urban Commune of Antananarivo (CUA) conducted an awareness campaign among vendors to encourage them to clean and maintain the cleanliness of their respective sales areas.
Despite reminders and requests for merchants to clear waste and debris related to their activities, some refused to comply with the instructions. “They also exhibited behavior deemed inappropriate,” the CUA reported in its statement.
Faced with this situation, the CUA applied the measures provided for by the regulations in force. The Commune calls on all vendors to respect hygiene and discipline rules at their sales locations. The goal is to preserve an environment that is clean, orderly, and respectful of everyone.
