The second round of the 2026 Madagascar 402m Drag Racing Championship, dubbed “The King Of Mada,” will take place this Sunday at the 213 Base in Arivonimamo.
Suspense is guaranteed. Speed enthusiasts and thrill-seekers are in for a treat. Organized by the Runmada club and sponsored by Fosa Energy, the competition is expected to intensify with the highly anticipated return of several major heavyweights.
The former Smart Drag car of the late champion Jaona Randriarimalala, known as “Jaona Elite,” will now be piloted by Ricardo Randriananja of the MSA club. “A complete overhaul from A to Z was necessary, along with waiting for parts to arrive. That is why I could not participate in the first round. I had to replace the engine, the gearbox, and the running gear. The car is now ready, and I intend to compete in all remaining rounds of the championship,” explained Ricardo Randriananja.
The Toamasina 2024 winner, Tojo Ranaivo, will also enter the competition behind the wheel of his Mitsubishi Evo X, having missed the inaugural round. Meanwhile, the reigning Madagascar champion, Nouroudine Mamodaly, who dominated the 2025 season by winning all four rounds in his Audi TT, will look to bounce back following a mechanical issue during the first round in early May. Suffering a gearbox failure during his first run, he chose to withdraw to prevent further damage.
The first round was won by the 2023 champion, Tahiana Rasolojaona, alias “Jaytaxx,” driving his Fosa Energy-branded BMW E30. Jaytaxx defeated Toala Rakotoarimanga of the AMA club, who drove a Peugeot ACM Océan Hôtel, in the super final. Jaytaxx also set the best time of 9.421 seconds during his fourth “joker” pass. Toala had previously eliminated the MSA pilot and national vice-champion, Mano Ramaheriniarivo, in the semifinals. Mano recorded the third-best time (12.344), while SRK pilot Nathan Bauman, known as “Baums,” clocked the second-best time (12.080) in his Ford Mustang Red Hammer PR2.
