FOOTBALL – U23 Barea – Successful first test match for the Barea

A conclusive trial. The local pre-selected U23 players, who are preparing for the second round of the U23 Africa Cup of Nations and the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic qualifiers, played their first evaluation match on Sunday in Moramanga. The U23 Barea secured a 4-1 victory against the Moramanga selection. The protégés of local coach Herimanitra Rabeharisoa, known as Hery Be, were already leading 3-0 at halftime.

Having arrived in Madagascar since the beginning of last week, the two technicians Boualem Mankour and Johan Paul, former captain of the Barea, attended the friendly test match. Madagascar was exempted from the first round following the withdrawal of the Comoros. The Barea will immediately face the South African Bafana-Bafana in the second round, with the first leg on November 9 and the return leg on November 17.

The local pre-selected players returned to the capital yesterday after the friendly match and will continue their preparation with the national team’s technical director, Boualem Mankour, and his foreign and local staff members. Other test matches will be scheduled later for technical and tactical evaluation of the players.
