The parade of political leaders continues at the Presidential Palace. The President of the Refoundation, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, is intensifying consultations with political actors as a prelude to the political dialogue announced in parallel with the national consultation.
After meeting with former presidents Marc Ravalomanana and Hery Rajaonarimampianina, the Head of State received leaders from the Committee for the Defense of the Struggle (KMT – Komity Mpiaro ny Tolona), the Malagasy Miara-Miainga (MMM) party, and the Asa Vita no Ifampitsarana (AVI) party at Ambohitsorohitra on Wednesday and Thursday.
According to the Refoundation presidency, the discussions focused on “consolidating the political situation and preparing for the political dialogue.” During these meetings, the Head of State emphasized that “consultation and the exchange of ideas are necessary to establish stability and foster the country’s development,” the presidency reported. The objective of the political dialogue is primarily to “create a climate conducive to organizing the upcoming elections,” he noted.
These meetings are part of a series of consultations initiated by the Head of State before the opening of the political dialogue, the principle of which he announced during a meeting with the Malagasy diaspora in Egypt. The Head of State indicated that discussions would be held with various political forces to define the modalities of the dialogue, which he considers a decisive step toward achieving a national consensus and preparing for the next electoral cycle.
