A firm decision has been taken. The Ministry of Justice has suspended 15 agents working at the Imerintsiatosika High-Security Prison from their duties. They are accused of “failures observed in the exercise of the responsibilities entrusted to them.”
According to a source within the ministry, prison guards had a detainee wash their vehicles outside the detention facility on August 7. The inmate took advantage of this situation to escape. After the Minister issued strict directives to locate the individual, the detainee in question was found that same evening.
However, the ministry did not stop there; it decided to take disciplinary measures against these fifteen agents following investigations conducted by the Directorate of Prison Inspection (DIP). According to the ministry, these sanctions are part of an effort to preserve the integrity, probity, and proper functioning of the public justice service.
