On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Madagascar, ancestral Korean sounds will soon resonate in Antananarivo. Mrs. Park Ji Hyun, Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Madagascar, and her husband, Mr. Kang Kyounghoon, are presenting ‘Sanare’, a fusion concert blending traditional Korean music with Western music, which will be held this Saturday at the Novotel Convention.
The show promises a musical immersion where traditional Korean instruments, such as the daegeum and gayageum, will engage in a dialogue with Western classical instruments like the violin, cello, and piano. This musical encounter will highlight the richness of Korean heritage while opening it up to contemporary sounds.
Beyond instrumental music, the concert will also feature pansori, a traditional Korean art of storytelling through song, as well as dance performances. The ensemble will offer the audience a harmonious experience, blending centuries-old traditions with modern artistic expressions.
Through this cultural event, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Madagascar celebrates ten years of diplomatic presence while strengthening cultural exchanges between the two countries.
