Franco-Malagasy Cooperation: Arnaud Guillois expresses his gratitude

After four years of service in Madagascar, Arnaud Guillois, the French Ambassador, expressed his thanks and gratitude to Colonel Michaël Randrianirina, President of the Refondation. Yesterday, after receiving an honorary distinction from Alice N’Diaye, Minister of Foreign Affairs, during a ceremony marking the end of his mission, the French diplomat visited the Ambohitsorohitra Palace for a meeting with the Head of State.

The two figures held a one-hour private meeting, characterized by discussions on bilateral relations between Madagascar and France.

“We have numerous topics of exchange in the economic, cultural, and Francophonie sectors. We are neighbors in the Indian Ocean through the overseas territories of Réunion and Mayotte. We share common challenges, and we wish for Madagascar to succeed and enter a virtuous cycle of growth, development, and democracy,” the French diplomat stated following the meeting.

Recalling the historical and close ties between France and Madagascar, the ambassador emphasized the desire to continue supporting the country during this pivotal period. “This bond is very strong, and we continue to support Madagascar, its government, and its population in their efforts to turn a new page that the country has sought to write since last autumn. This is also why we have adapted our cooperation programs in favor of youth, higher education, and health,” he explained. According to him, all these projects “need to be extended” to continue the efforts initiated in these priority sectors.
