The Mahamasina Sports Palace will host a special encounter this Friday starting at 8:30 AM as part of the N1A national championship, which runs from September 24 to October 4. In the small arena, Analamanga’s MB2ALL will face off against Sava’s BC Somava. Beyond the sporting stakes, this duel will be marked by a reunion between former teammates.
Hoby Ravelonjanahary, alias Kaps, and Sydonie Andriamihajanirina have joined the ranks of BC Somava. They will face their former teammates from MB2ALL, but this time on the opposing side. This unique situation adds an extra dimension to the clash between these two ambitious teams.
For its first participation in the N1A final phase, BC Somava aims to test itself against the most experienced teams. Opposite them, MB2ALL shows strong ambitions and is targeting a spot in the final.
Facing former players trained at the club does not put any particular pressure on MB2ALL. “For MB2ALL, the goal is to reach at least the final. Facing players trained within our club—who are now scattered across several teams like Varsity, GNBC, and Ankaratra—is not a problem for us. It is a source of pride for the club to see them playing elsewhere. On the court, they are opponents we hope to beat,” explains Ndranto Rakotonanahary, coach of MB2ALL.
We attempted to contact Bayard Razafindralambo, coach of BC Somava, for his impressions of the match, but he remained unreachable.
On the court, past ties will give way to competition. Kaps and Sydonie will be keen to defend the colors of Somava, while their former partners will seek to win. Memories and friendship will have to take a backseat to the sporting duel.
