Starting from Ampasikibo, in Toliara, Jerry Pépin Rabibisoa is living an adventure he never imagined: studying and playing basketball at one of the best Junior Colleges in the United States. Behind this success, the young basketball player does not forget the hardships he faced nor the people who supported him.
From Toliara to the United States, the American dream has become a reality for Jerry Pépin Rabibisoa. The young basketball player, a member of the U18 national team in 2022, African vice-champion and world championship participant in 2023, and a member of the senior 5×5 national team, has crossed Madagascar’s borders to pursue his studies and his passion in the United States.
Originally from Ampasikibo, Toliara, Jerry now plays for a renowned Junior College, where many young basketball players destined for NCAA Division 1 careers also compete. It is a new stage in a journey that, just a few years ago, seemed hard to imagine.
In a particularly moving message, Jerry reflects on the path he has traveled and pays tribute to those who accompanied him during the most difficult moments. He specifically expresses his gratitude to Samy Olivier Harison, president of Cospn, Arlette Rahajarijaona, as well as his father Rabibisoa, and his entire family and loved ones.
“I come from Toliara, specifically from Ampasikibo, and honestly, I never imagined that one day I could come to the United States to study and play basketball,” he confides with emotion.
For the young player, this arrival in the United States is not an end in itself. It represents only the first step in a journey he hopes will be even more ambitious. Aware of the sacrifices and hard work that await him, Jerry Pépin Rabibisoa intends to continue his progress with the same determination.
