ZARA KANTO: Zay, Mirado, and Nate Tex Bridge the Generations

The group Zay, along with artists Mirado and Nate Tex, shared the stage at the Palais des Sports for “Zara Kanto,” a concert centered on reunions and musical sharing.

Featuring three distinct musical journeys and songs that have defined different generations, the Palais des Sports hosted this special event yesterday. Over the course of three and a half hours, the show alternated between iconic tracks and collaborative performances. The audience, primarily composed of young people, had the opportunity to rediscover the signature songs from each artist’s repertoire.

The stage design featured a lighting setup complemented by six rectangular screens: four smaller ones on the sides and two large ones in the center. These screens displayed vibrant imagery, allowing the audience a better view of the performers.

Nate Tex opened the show with several tracks from his repertoire, including “Mahatalanjona” and “Pejy faharoa.” In 2016, he decided to dedicate himself entirely to music, before officially launching his solo career in 2017 with his first compositions.

The group Zay then took the stage, performing songs that left a mark on Malagasy music in the late 1990s and throughout the 2000s. Among their iconic hits were “Indray andro any,” “Tsiky kely,” and “Nitempo anao.” Their performance allowed the audience to reconnect with a repertoire that accompanied an entire generation and left a lasting imprint on the music scene.

Mirado followed with his own hit songs, including “Ilay anjeliko” and “Trano bongo.” He rose to prominence among the general public during the 2000s.

Finally, Zay, Mirado, and Nate Tex reunited on stage for a joint performance, perfectly illustrating the spirit of “Zara Kanto”: bringing together different paths and generations through a shared passion for music.
