The second official race of the season dedicated to big-displacement motorcycles is here, and fans of powerful two-wheelers and speed are in for a treat. The second round of the Madagascar Road Motorcycle Championship, dubbed ‘iRace-iRay’ and organized by the ‘Petit à Petit’ club, will take place this Sunday at Base 213 in Arivonimamo. This marks the second race counting toward the national title, featuring a 400-meter straight track.
The competition will consist of three mandatory runs. ‘The cumulative time of the three heats will be used to rank each competitor,’ explained César Sarron, one of the organizers from the club. The first run is scheduled to kick off at 10:00 AM. ‘Those who achieve the best times will compete in the final phase and the super final in the afternoon, although the latter is not mandatory. It will primarily be for the show,’ the official added.
‘A motorcycle that is still quite rare globally might make an appearance at this event; we are currently in negotiations with the owner. Additionally, an electric scooter capable of easily reaching 200 km/h will also be featured,’ mentioned César Sarron.
This second national round will also be distinguished by other concurrent events. In addition to the official ‘Drag Race Moto’ championship round, there will be an ‘Open Track’ car race, and as a grand finale, an interdisciplinary challenge. ‘The Open Track is not an official race; it will be a form of entertainment between motorcycle heats. Competitors will be divided into two categories: Supercharged and Naturally Aspirated,’ confided Rado Carras, the official in charge of the Open Track organization. The event will include both qualifying rounds and a final phase.
