The Malagasy Football Federation (FMF) has clarified that it has paid its share, while the Ministry of Youth and Sports has acknowledged the existence of salary arrears owed to coach Romuald Félix Rakotondrabe, known as “Rôrô”.
Solonirina Ratovohery, a member of the FMF executive committee, stated that Rôrô resigned following the match against Tunisia in November 2024, which legally constituted a breach of contract. The contract was a tripartite agreement between the coach, the Federation, and the State.
According to the FMF, the State is responsible for 60% of the salary, while the Federation covers 40%. The Federation has invited all parties to discuss the matter to resolve the administrative misunderstanding.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Alain Désiré Rasambany, acknowledged the arrears and confirmed that the ministry is currently restarting the payment procedures to settle its portion of the debt.
