Partnered with Benjamin Rahine, Mahefa Rakotomalala secured another victory during the university tournament held at Indiana Wesleyan University. On Friday, September 25, the pair Rakotomalala-Rahine defeated James Ashworth and David Deumer 8-6 in a hard-fought match.
This success confirms the strong performance of the Malagasy player, who holds a key position within his university team. A few hours earlier, Rakotomalala and Rahine had already dominated Timo Fischer and Valentino Trento 8-3. They had also advanced through the previous round against Jaume Riera Galindo and Miguel Vieira De Carvalho with the same score.
With three victories in the doubles draw, the Rakotomalala-Rahine pair hopes to continue their journey in the competition. For Mahefa Rakotomalala, these matches are also an opportunity to face players from diverse backgrounds and to progress on the American university circuit.
In April, the Malagasy player had already contributed to his university’s victory against Huntington in the final of the Crossroads League, an American university competition.
