The 12th edition of the International Tourism Fair (ITM) and the 3rd edition of the International Handicraft Fair (IHM) have concluded with positive results. According to data released by the National Tourism Office of Madagascar (ONTM), both visitor attendance and performance indicators for this dual event have significantly exceeded initial projections.
“We recorded 29,932 visitors, compared to nearly 24,000 in 2025. There were 478 exhibition stands featuring 379 exhibitors. A special ITM newspaper edition was printed with 22,000 copies. Additionally, 120 B2B meetings were organized during the two professional days of the fair, involving 55 local operators,” reported the organizer yesterday during the prize-giving ceremony for the raffle winners of the ITM & IHM 2026 fair, held at the Cité des Cultures in Antaninarenina.
The event has significantly strengthened the international profile of Madagascar as a destination. The fair brought together key players in the tourism and handicraft sectors at the national, regional, and international levels. More than twenty countries were represented at the event, including France, the Comoros, the United States, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Kenya, Réunion, South Africa, Spain, Uganda, and Poland.
These indicators illustrate the impact of the ITM fair, which was held from June 11 to 14 at the CCI Ivato, in promoting Madagascar as a tourism destination.
