Unauthorized bus shelters have been removed in Andranomena and Ambodihady. The operation was carried out by the Urban Commune of Antananarivo (CUA), which also initiated a reorganization of markets operating irregularly in these sectors.
The affected markets were given a 48-hour notice to reorganize their locations before the cleanup operation began. According to the CUA, the intervention proceeded without incident.
The municipality reminds the public that occupying public space without administrative authorization is prohibited by the Municipal Hygiene Code (CMH). Such occupation can lead to third-category sanctions.
The CUA also specifies that no construction or installation may be carried out on municipal properties or public roads without prior authorization. The facilities affected by the operation are therefore required to comply with the procedures established by the municipality.
The intervention in Andranomena and Ambodihady is part of ongoing efforts to clear and reorganize spaces within the public domain.
