MUSIC – Niu Raza accumulates accolades

Between her performances on American stages and her nomination for the 2026 Boston Music Awards, the Malagasy singer continues her international journey and calls on the diaspora to support her candidacy.

Niu Raza is busy with cultural engagements in the United States and is preparing to take on a new challenge. Nominated for the 2026 Boston Music Awards in the category of “Afro/Caribbean Artist of the Year,” the Malagasy singer is seeking the support of the diaspora and residents in the United States to try and win this distinction. Voting is open until December 16 on the event’s official website.

Having lived in the United States for nearly ten years, the artist continues her musical journey across various stages and cultural events. This year, she notably participated in the Francophonie concert in New York on March 19, before performing at the Shrine World Music on April 3. She also took part in the Kreol Festival in New York, as well as the Kreol Food Festival in Washington.

Mobilization around a nomination. For this new milestone, Niu Raza is counting on Malagasy people established in the United States and residents of the country authorized to participate in the vote.

“And we are still standing. Let us hold the colors of Madagascar high. This trophy must return to Madagascar,” she added. Through this candidacy, the singer wishes to represent her country in an American musical competition and strengthen the visibility of Malagasy music.

This nomination marks a new stage in her journey in the United States. While awaiting the results, the artist is banking on the mobilization of her supporters to try and win the Afro-Caribbean Artist of the Year title.
