The celebration of the 66th anniversary of Independence will take on an international dimension this year with the participation of Paskero. The French singer-songwriter, originally from La Réunion, joins the lineup for the grand concert scheduled for June 25 at Anosy, one of the most highly anticipated events of the national festivities.
Known for a musical style that blends tropical influences, Latin rhythms, electro-pop, and Afro-sounds, the artist will bring his unique touch to a program featuring several prominent figures of the Malagasy music scene. The audience will be able to enjoy performances by Samoëla, Njakatiana, Sakaté Boy, Ndondolah, Lucia, Melky, and Kamary. The evening’s entertainment will be hosted by DJ X Bri.
The highlight of the celebration, a spectacular fireworks display, will illuminate the skies over Anosy starting at 7:00 PM, offering the public a breathtaking moment before the festivities continue.
Beyond this rich and varied lineup, the State has chosen to place live music at the heart of the performances. Several musicians have been mobilized to accompany the artists on stage, prioritizing live acts. This shift aims to provide more authentic performances while highlighting the work of instrumentalists.
According to Christian Rabekoto, Director General of the National Office for Arts and Culture (OFNAC) and member of the organizing committee, “this approach aims to restore the prestige of live music and improve the quality of the shows offered to the public.”
The organizers have also paid special attention to sound systems and technical aspects to ensure better performance conditions. Through this new approach, the national festivities intend to celebrate Independence in a spirit of sharing, while showcasing both Malagasy talent and international artists.
