To facilitate the registration of civil servants on the electoral list, the District Electoral Commission (CED) of Mahajanga is visiting local public administrations directly. Last Tuesday, staff from the Boeny region, having been previously sensitized, were able to register in the meeting room of the administrative block in Ampisikina without having to travel to another site.
“This outreach approach aims to make it easier for public agents to register on the electoral list. The provisional closing operation is scheduled for November 25. A new list will be published in January 2027. We cannot provide figures yet, as the operation is not finished,” explained Saïd Jaffar, president of the Mahajanga CED.
During the CED delegation’s visit to her office in Ampisikina on Tuesday, the Secretary General of the Boeny region, Harinarivo Ida Jacqueline Rakotonirina, welcomed this initiative, which brings the electoral process closer to civil servants and facilitates their participation.
The campaign to update the electoral list continues until November 25. After the Boeny region, the Mahajanga CED plans to continue this approach with other public administrations.
