KARTING – AFRICA CUP – Three Malagasy drivers to compete in Angola

Matthew Andriambelo, Alexia Rakotomalala, and Andi Rajoelison will have two days to showcase their driving skills against more than forty drivers from across the continent. In a discipline where gaps are often measured in tenths or even hundredths of a second, consistency, precision in trajectories, and the ability to seize every opportunity will be decisive.

This event serves primarily as a major real-world test for the three young drivers. Facing opponents from various African karting schools, they will need to quickly find their rhythm and adapt to the demands of a continental competition. It is a valuable experience, regardless of the final result.

For Matthew Andriambelo, this will not be his first encounter with high-level competition, as it marks his fourth international outing. The driver has already experienced international racing by participating in the World Cup in Kuala Lumpur in November 2025.

With fourteen countries represented, Madagascar will have the opportunity to measure its strength against the continent’s benchmarks and continue its integration into the African motorsport landscape. The Karting Africa Cup is more than just a race; it is also a platform for development and exchange between drivers, teams, coaches, and sports officials. These are all opportunities for the Malagasy representatives to observe, learn, and compare their methods with their African counterparts.

“I am very happy and proud to participate in the race in Angola,” says Matthew Andriambelo. For him, this race represents “a new and important experience” and “a great opportunity to represent Madagascar on the international stage.” The young driver does not hide his impatience to get back on the track. “I feel a lot of excitement about taking part in this showcase. Representing my country is a great source of pride for me,” he stated, while thanking his supporters.

In Benguela, the three Malagasy drivers will need to translate their preparation and ambition into performance. Amidst the roar of engines and lap after lap, they have a clear mission: to defend the colors of the Great Island as best they can and show that Malagasy karting has its place in the African peloton through its three ambassadors.
