Just like in 2025, My-Sah Itasy defeated THBC Analamanga in the final of the Madagascar championship. The Itasy team won with a score of 24-21.
The rematch lived up to expectations. One year after their top-tier duel, which ended in a narrow 25-24 victory for My-Sah, the two teams faced each other again for the national title on Wednesday at the Palais des Sports in Mahamasina. Same matchup, same stakes, but a different scenario. After nearly an hour of battle, My-Sah Itasy remains at the pinnacle of Malagasy women’s handball.
The final, originally scheduled for 2:30 PM, finally kicked off at 2:55 PM. From the start, THBC showed its intentions and opened the scoring. My-Sah responded quickly: 1-1 after two and a half minutes. The tone was set. Both teams engaged in a real chase, each taking the lead in turn.
The first half turned into a duel between the goalkeepers. Offenses regularly hit the defensive walls, and neither team managed to pull away. At halftime, the score was tied at 11-11.
Returning from the locker room, My-Sah changed the pace. More aggressive and efficient in key moments, the defending champion finally created a significant gap. Despite a late comeback attempt by THBC, My-Sah secured the victory 24-21, retaining the Madagascar championship title for the second consecutive year.
“I want to congratulate my players who gave everything during the national summit. My-Sah knows very well how THBC plays. Our advantage, I think, is the freshness of my players, given their young age,” analyzed Tillo Andriamiharinosy, coach of My-Sah. In the men’s category, Littoral Atsinanana won the national title with a score of 43-28 against HC Est Atsimo Andrefana.
