The Malagasy New Year of ‘unity’, in accordance with ‘Lohataona’ (literally the head of the year), has been celebrated in Morondava since September 14th. According to Félice Adolphe, president of the organizing committee, the ‘tsimandrimandy’ (vigil) is scheduled for Thursday night, marking the arrival of the new year the following day.
