COOPERATION – The United Nations opens its doors to the public

The United Nations system in Madagascar is organizing an open house on Thursday, October 22, starting at 1:00 PM, at the United Nations Common House in Andraharo. This initiative is part of the United Nations Day celebrations, which take place annually on October 24.

The initiative aims to inform the public about the missions, activities, and areas of intervention of the various UN entities present in Madagascar. It also seeks to strengthen ties between the organization and citizens by facilitating access to information regarding its actions.

Through this open house, visitors will be able to discover initiatives carried out in various sectors, including development, education, health, human rights protection, and the improvement of living conditions—all areas that directly affect the daily lives of the Malagasy population.

United Nations Day commemorates the entry into force of the UN Charter on October 24, 1945. It highlights the role of international cooperation in promoting peace, seeking solutions to common challenges, and supporting development.

This meeting in Andraharo offers an opportunity to learn about the organization’s role and to better understand its contribution to development efforts in Madagascar. It will also highlight the importance of the partnership between international institutions and local actors in meeting the needs of the population.
