The Antananarivo Interconnected Network (RIA) is currently facing a production deficit of approximately 25 MW compared to user demand. Consequently, load shedding has become necessary again for the capital and areas connected to this network. According to Solofonantenaina Rakotonandraina, Director of the RIA, this situation is due to a combination of several factors.
